Nobody does. It's a nice thing to have, and ChronoArx keeps it that way. It winds your automatic watches and displays them, the way a good winder always has.
A mechanical watch should stay mechanical. The trouble is that a movement built that way tells you nothing about itself. So we built the bridge. ChronoArx is the one object that holds your watch every day, so it is the one that can keep the record: what is wound, what is resting, what is running right now, what is due for service, and what each watch is worth on the market today. That is telemetry and a record no winder has given you before. One foot in horology, one in the data, and neither gets in the other's way.
The winder.
One watch per unit. Buy one, or build a stack.
- The case body is machined from one solid rod of aluminium, not assembled from separate parts.
- The drivetrain runs near silent. We source from European suppliers wherever we can.
- The drive couples through magnets rather than a fixed mechanical link. Under strain it decouples instead of passing the load on.
- A magnetic shield sits between the movement and the rest of the unit, the drivetrain included.
- Runs from USB-C, or from a battery when there is no cable to hand.
- The dial opening is angled into the body, so the face is turned toward you. It holds in both mounting orientations.
- When it comes to rest, the watch is left with twelve at the top, ready to read.
- The same unit sits flat or stands upright. One body, two orientations.

I am Tom, a mechanical and aerospace engineer. I worked on gas turbine engines for private jets, on the powertrains of Italian and German high-performance cars, and led the development of high-precision measurement systems. Watches got me the same way those did: precision engineering and craftsmanship you can hold in your hand. I am building ChronoArx because every mechanical device needs proper monitoring and maintenance, and a watch is no exception.
